Walberswick Suffolk

We design and install our award-winning traditional and modern conservatories throughout Suffolk and are happy to meet you in Walberswick to discuss your requirements whether you are looking for a conservatory or orangery.

All our conservatories are bespoke made in our workshops by craftsmen using traditional skills. We marry their skills with modern fitments and double-glazing to ensure excellent insulation and a draught-free environment so that you can enjoy your conservatory not just in the summer, but through the winter as well.

Whether you are looking for a conservatory for a period or contemporary home, we believe that we can design a conservatory that will complement your property and become an important focal point for your family and visitors.

Walberswick just across the River Blythe from Southwold Harbour can be reached by ferry; a rowing boat ably rowed by a friendly lady last time I used it.

Walberswick was once a thriving port trading in fish, bacon, corn and timber. Today, it is a sleepy village with a nice pub and several shops, and its biggest attraction is the ‘British Open Crabbing Championship’ held on a summer Sunday each year. Very popular with children, adults and holidaymakers, the banks of the Blythe are packed with people with buckets, string and bait in an attempt to catch the most or largest crabs.

Well-known celebrities owning holiday homes in Walberswick include, broadcaster and raconteur Sir Clement Freud, Richard Curtis, writer of Blackadder and Notting Hill and actor Geoffry Palmer.

The population of Walberswick is just 420, although this swells in summer, living in 227 homes. The average 4-bed detached property is valued at £650,000, a shade less than Southwold, but then there are fewer pubs.
