Whether you are looking for a conservatory for a period or contemporary home, we believe that we can design a conservatory that will complement your property and become an important focal point for your family and visitors.

Needham Church Suffolk
Needham Church

Needham Market, meaning ‘needy homestead with a market’, sits on the west bank of the River Gipping and was granted its market charter by Henry III in 1245. It was a thriving town until the plague arrived in 1663, when many people suffered and the town almost disappeared.

Until the coming of the plague, the main trade in Needham Market was wool combing, but afterwards and until the present day the main source of income has been agriculture.

Among the more unusual industries trading in the town over the years were glue and manure works, both very smelly industries that are fortunately no longer there. It also once boasted a mousetrap factory that fortunately for local mice has also disappeared.

Notable buildings in the town include the 15th century church of St John the Baptist and the Limes Hotel, parts of which date from medieval times. It was a calling house for pilgrims on their way to Bury St Edmunds.

The average 4-bed detached property is valued at £300,000 and the population of Needham Market is 4,495, plus a few mice, living in 1,984 homes.
