Church and Guildhall Eye Suffolk
Church and Guildhall

We design and install our award-winning traditional and modern conservatories throughout Suffolk and are happy to visit Eye to discuss your requirements whether you are looking for a conservatory or orangery.

All our conservatories are bespoke made in our workshops by craftsmen using traditional skills. We marry their skills with modern fitments and double-glazing to ensure excellent insulation and a draught-free environment so that you can enjoy your conservatory not just in the summer, but through the winter as well.

Whether you are looking for a conservatory for a period or contemporary home, we believe that we can design a conservatory that will complement your property and become an important focal point for your family and visitors.

Eye Castle

Eye is a small agricultural town, south of Diss that sits on the river Dove. William Mallet built Eye Castle on the only high ground in North Suffolk, around 1066, but during Henry VIII’s reign, the castle and nearby Priory fell into disuse.

The church of St Peter’s and St Paul’s dates from the 14th century and is considered to be one of the finest churches in the country. In the 15th century Eye was the centre of localised lace making industry, with the last known lace maker of Eye working until 1904.

At one time there were twenty pubs in Eye and these were probably popular during WWII when the airfield was occupied by the 490th USAAF Bomb Group. Today the only surviving pub is the Queens Head behind the Town Hall.
