CONTEMPORARY CONSERVATORIES

Contemporary, or modern conservatories will provide you with a less fussy appearance than you will get from a traditional conservatory and will usually complement a modern home more suitably. You can find a brief description of conservatory designs elsewhere on our website.

Contemporary Conservatories by Richmond Oak Ltd for Suffolk UK

A modern property may often have a simple design and unfussy detailing and our designers will work to produce a structure that will match this and sit attractively in the garden.

Some clients seek an all-glass conservatory and while these can look striking, the reality is that they can be expensive to heat in the winter or impossible to keep cool in the summer, even if the latest solar glass is incorporated into their structure. A conservatory that cannot be used year-round becomes a liability. An all-glass conservatory is also unsuitable if the property is overlooked by another, or close to a public road or footpath.

By compromising to include some solid insulation against cold weather and summer sun, you can create a conservatory you can enjoy year-round and protect you from the eyes of passers by.

If you are planning a south-facing conservatory facing onto a garden, patio or deck, you can incorporate fully opening sliding or folding doors into the design that will give your conservatory a wonderful feeling of space in the summer months and make it easier to keep cool. This is very different to the traditional conservatory single, double-door or French door solution and gives the conservatory a modern and contemporary look.

Orangeries are very fashionable and let you extend a property and let you have lots of natural light without living in a fishbowl. We find that many clients looking for a contemporary, modern or non-traditional conservatory would really rather have an orangery.

We are always happy to advise on Contemporary Conservatory design, so please contact us if you have any questions or wish to meet one of our designers.
