CONSERVATORIES & ORANGERIES FOR BECCLES

Beccles Quay Suffolk
Beccles Quay

We design and install our award-winning traditional and modern conservatories throughout Suffolk and are happy to visit Beccles to discuss your requirements if you are looking for a conservatory or orangery.

If you are looking for a conservatory for a period or contemporary home, we believe that we can design a conservatory that will complement your property and become an important focal point for your family and visitors.

All our conservatories are bespoke made in our workshops by craftsmen using traditional skills. We marry their skills with modern fitments and double-glazing to ensure excellent insulation and a draught-free environment so that you can enjoy your conservatory not just in the summer, but through the winter as well.

ABOUNT BECCLES

St Michaels Bell Tower Beccles Suffolk
St Michaels Bell Tower

Beccles is situated on the River Waveney, on the edge of the Norfolk broads and in the summer is a magnet for holidaymakers. The town was once a major Saxon seaport and today you can find many yachts and cruisers just outside the town centre on Beccles quay.

If you take a walk around Beccles you will find some nice examples of Georgian architecture, these add to the town’s charm, although they would be much improved with the addition of a Georgian conservatory! Although many of these properties are quite pricey, it is possible to find properties for sale in Beccles at lower prices. The average price for 4-bed detached house is £280,000.

The 97-ft bell tower of St Michaels church dominates Beccles town centre. The tower clock face has only three sides – north, south and east. Whether this was done originally for economy I don’t know, but the locals claim that as the west side faced Norfolk a decision was made not to give Norfolk inhabitants the time for free.

Roos Hall Beccles Suffolk
Roos Hall

TV personality Sir David Frost, son of the local vicar spent part of his childhood in Beccles. Clearly he is not anti-Norfolk as other locals as he is married to a daughter of the Duke of Norfolk.

Roos Hall, just outside Beccles is a manor house said by many to be the most haunted house in Britain. The population of Beccles is 13,044 plus ghosts and the number of households 12,897 plus one haunted.

Worlingham is a rural village next to Beccles, where there are many new housing developments.
